Im Back!

I can't begin to express how amazing it feels to have nothing to do.

R and I have oficially been married for 8 days now and for the past 8 days I have laid around the house, caught up on my tv shows thanks to the internet, read, drank lots of wine, eaten way too much food.

and did I mention slept. alot.

People keep asking me how it feels to be married. I don't think it feels any different. I mean, I've been with R for the past 5ish years, we've already lived together, so it wasn't really that different. I came home from our mini-moon and did 8 loads of laundry. Same old with a little extra bling bling I guess.

But anyways, now that I'm wed I have no more excuses and I promise to actually post on my blog! Oh and I'm also making my big comeback to the gym tomorrow haha. See you tomorrow people!

xoxo

In case you missed it, I fell off the planet / Goals

Hey World, forvive me for not being around much lately but I swear I have been EXTRA, super busy. With what you might ask? Well wedding stuff of course. It has taken over my life. 9 days and I have 3489572347805617802346 things left to do! Bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Speaking of wedding days the weather on mine as of today looks like this...

Awesome, Right?

I really really need it to either not rain at all so we can take pretty pictures outside with all the leaves changing and the beautiful, rich colors
or
it needs to downpour like a mother fucker becuase if it rains a certain amount, my engagement ring is FREE.
So lets make it happen weather.

Anyways, I've been dying to show all of you the progress we have been making on all the wedding details BUT- I've decided im going to do individual posts instead. Not only will it be dramatic and suspenseful but it is alot to look at. It's almost too good to be true that in 9 days I'll be done with cardstock, gluedots, tulle, candles, gowns, tux's and eeeeevvvveeerrrryyyything else. But until then, I hate to say that I'll be missing for a little while longer. Before I go, let me bring you up to speed with how Sept's goals went and what I have in store for October...

September 09 Recap

  1. Actually get up when my alarm goes off: This one went really really well at first. R and I were getting up on the first ring with no problems.... and then things started going downhill from there. I've just been so tired thanks to staying up until forever each night doing wedding stuff! This girl needs some more ZZZ's, or im going to look like the corpse bride :(

  2. Go to the gym 5x a week: HA. This one started out out good as well. I was going to the gym 5 days a week for about 2 and a half weeks and I tapered off. By the end of September both R & I had stopped going all together becuase we were so freakin busy. so gym = epic fail.

  3. Read 2 Books: This one was actually easy. I read 2 books this month: Untamed - the fourth installment of the House of Night Series by P.C. Cast and My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler. Both were pretty good. Both are reads I would recommend.

  4. Cook Dinner 4x a week: While I didnt cook 4x a week every week I did average 2 dinners and a breakfast here and there. I wouldn't say it was a complete success, but I don't think it was a fail either. I'll be posting my favorite recipe later on so you can try it!

  5. Revamp mine and R's resumes: didn't get to it. But in my defense this wasn't really a top priority.

Music on Repeat:
Basshunter, Anna Nalick, and Bob Marley
What I Ate:
salads
bologna & cheese sandwiches with 1 peice of cread and no mayo or butter
soup
steak
chicken
homemade pizza
lots of cheese

Favourite Songs:
3 little birds - Bob Marley
Now your gone - Basshunter

Best Movies I Watched:
Love, Actually and Mamma Mia! we watched all the batmans, all the X-Men movies, and are now watching all the Saws, R's choice, not mine.

What I Did:
Bought wedding stuff, made wedding stuff, thought about wedding stuff, dreamt about wedding stuff, etc.

Overall Mood:
So very tired.

It's Just one of Those Days

Right now, I wish I could put everything hold for oh, say, forever and just lay around on my bed in my underwear litsening to the rain with bob marley on repete.

If only it was that easy, right? Tonight, R and I have to go to a dinner with some of the doctors he works with. I believe that his coworkers will be in attencance as well. I'm not really a fan of most of them. On the upside, we are going to a brewery... on the downside, we are going to a brewery. I love beer, but it does me dirty.

Sorry for being so blah. I've just been so tired lately. Maybe it's the weather, maybe its the 6 hours I spent last night tying 200ish bows on wedding bubbles, maybe its my guest list which is spiraling out of control. Can anyone explain how I went from 250 guests to 330 guests? I'm not even really sure I know 330 people. Oh well...

The good news is: R and I got the vases for our short centerpieces for $1 each. I'll reveal that surprise later, darlings :)

I'm also looking forward to this weekend. I took Friday and Sunday off. R and I will be spending most of the weekend in Sandusky with his sister and her beau. Friday we will all be hanging out lakeside and later on we are going to Cedar Point, which is a pretty cool amusement park. Saturday, we are going to his step sisters. Unfortunately, Sunday R and I have to go to this Pre Cana thing catholic people have to go to so they can get married. Im not so sure spending the day with religious fanatics is such a good idea after a wedding.

Luckily, God hates me already so he should understand, Thanks G-Man.

So until then, I'm here in the office, listening to "three little birds" wishing I was lounging around somewhere far, far, away in my underwear.

Wedding Shoes

I love shoes. I've never met a girl who doesn't. But how does a girl decide on the perfect shoes for the perfect day? Apparently by searching the internet for 23057237 hours.

Here's my issue...
R is around 5'11''
I am around 5'7"
A killer pair of heels is around 5"

Put it all together and I end up being as tall or sometimes taller that R which I absolutely, positively, will not allow. ever.

Not that is really matters because my dress is long and poofy and you will never be able to see my shoes. But that's not the point. The point is: I still want to wear a fabulous pair of shoes with bright colors and weird designs that are totally not traditional at all!

While I would love to wear some crazy, make your ass look like its on a pedestal stilettos... I simply cannot. Yes, I know they have shoes with smaller heels... but those are just weird. Midget heels? ewww.

So, I must sadly wave goodbye to the Lanvin Sequened Heels, the Christian Dior Feather Slingback, the Zombie Stomper Platform Peep-Toes, the Christian Louboutin Trash Shoes, the Green Leopard Print Peep-Toes the Miu Miu Sequened Splendor, and the Lamborghini Heels.

I will probably have to settle for these :(

Without Further Ado...

Presenting the infamous WEDDING INVITATIONS! (dun dun duuuunnnnnn)...

invites

Please don't mind my terrible photography skills... I consider myself pretty crafty but I seriously suck with a camera. Sorry it took me so long, I've been up to my eyeballs in wedding stuff- paper, glue dots, ribbon, etc. I can't wait for it all to END! Speaking of, time to go finish the damn bubbles.

Postal Standards

Did anyone know that the minimum size for postcard was 3.5'x5'? I didn't.
Did I mention that the rsvp's I designed were postcard style and were 3.5'x4.5'? Shit.
Did I forget to tell you that before it occured to me to go to the post office and make sure that the rsvp's could be mailed I already stuffed, stamped, addressed, and sealed all the invitations? Yeahhhh.

Needless to say that I was in store for a fun filled Saturday which consisted of:
  1. Post Office Debacle
  2. Buying small envelopes for rsvps
  3. Going home and having a meltdown
  4. Opening all the sealed envelope
  5. Removing all parts of invitation
  6. Seperating all parts into piles
  7. Cutting 3 stamps (totaling 81 cents) off the envelopes
  8. Cutting the stamps off of the rsvps
  9. Printing 150 new rsvps
  10. Putting the new rsvps together
  11. Gluing 3 stamps (totaling 81 cents) on new envelopes
  12. Gluing stamps on the new rsvps
  13. Printing off new labels
  14. Putting new labels on both then invite and rsvp envelopes
  15. Restuffing all the invitation envelopes
  16. Sealing all invitation envelopes
  17. Passing out from exhaustion

I know you must be jealous of the fabulous Saturday I had. Thankfully, after witnessing my oh-so-unclassy meltdown,R took it upon himself to do the most tedious part of the process: cutting out all the stamps. He was truly amazing yesterday and I can't thank him enough. I'd also like to thank my brother for helping as well as my sister, who was gracious enough to take time out of her busy schedule. I never realized how busy you could be at 13... NOT.

Alright so, I SOLEMNLY SWEAR to mail out the invitations TOMORROW! And of course, put up pictures.

As for now... one hour left of work (working on Sundays might be worse than working on mondays) and then its off to Geneva-on-the-lake for a family picnic on R's side, and lots of nieces+one nephew running around like hellians. I hope they're grilling hotdogs :)

M.I.A.

M.I.A. as in missing in action, which is what I've been the past couple days. It's been a long year for me thanks to R (which is what we'll call the future husband) proposing, me finishing college, D. & I moving into an apartment-moving out-and moving in with my parents, wedding planning, invitation making, bridal showers, work, & the zillion other things that have happened between last July to present.

So here we are, fast forward to August and I have decided that while I have "no time" for anything, starting a blog seems like fun. So, because I was gone for a while after my witty first post, here is my attempt to catch you up to speed:

Last Saturday, R and I had our bridal shower, which was a huge success, aside from the fact that it was supposed to be a BBQ, and it was pouring outside. Warning: attempting to accommodate 65+ women in a small, 3BR ranch will result in FAILURE. Thankfully, these ladies were troopers and everyone had a great time. The food was delicious- ribs, chicken, rice, perogies, salads, steaks, & more variates of pies/cakes/tarts then I can remember. (my mom, who happens to be a chef, catered) I ate: 2 large glasses of wine. We received amazing gifts, my personal favorite being a 12 bottle wine cooler which will look amazing in our beautiful house in Florida-which we have yet to buy; did I mention we live in Ohio? Its in the works. Hopefully.

I've also been slaving over the past 3 weeks on my DIY wedding invitations, which should have been sent out about a month ago. I suck, I know. The wedding is October 10th so I'm a little behind, but the good news is they are finally finished!!!! (pics to come) I just need to mail them out which I SWEAR I will do tomorrow. Again, Hopefully.

Other than that life has been pretty boring: work, bills, errands, grocery shopping, lounging around outside reading, planning dinner every night, & entertaining the kids- R and I are the proud parents of 2 adorable & incredibly sweet dogs. As for tonight's plans: reading, movie, and a promised chocolate fondue for my siblings.

Adieu mon amis...
